[SPECIAL NOTE TO READER: John and I no longer play this particular weekly residency as of 2009... I decided to post this to keep the canon of my original blog on myspace]
Hey Everyone,
I've been getting asked a lot whether or not I've been planning on playing another residency at a new location over the past month or two, which invariably has led me to pursue an answer to this dilemma.
The answer came today from Hennessy's!
Starting in June, I am going to be performing at Hennessy's in Laguna Beach located at 213 Ocean Ave (2nd Floor). The kicker to this is that I won't be alone either.
My good friend and partner in crime John Parschauer will be joining me from now on at Hennessy's to play lead guitar. If you've never had the opportunity to hear John play... well, all I can say is that you need to. I've been doing my best to realize my songs in the format of a band effort, and lucky for me, John is the first step in the process, which will continue on with bass and drums in the coming weeks as well. John adds a flare that I wouldn't be able to accomplish on my own. We've been hard at work expanding on many of the songs that I've written as well as working on covers that everyone should find appealing.
To begin promoting this night, we will be playing additional shows on Sundays in June at Hennessy's as well in order to spread the word. Here is a lowdown of upcoming shows at our new home:
Tuesday May 20th - 8:00 PM
Sunday May 25th - 5:00 PM (Day show)
Tuesday June 3rd - 8:00 PM
Sunday June 8th - 8:00 PM
Tuesday June 17th - 8:00 PM
Sunday June 22nd - 8:00 PM
Tuesday June 24th - 8:00 PM
John and I are also very active in supporting the local music scene as much as possible so we are also planning on having opening acts during this Tuesday night residency, so, if you're a musician and you're interested in playing, please, by all means, contact me here at myspace or at mikevitalebooking@yahoo.com. We're offering a 30 to 45 minute set. This is a FREE show as well so look forward to no charge at the door!
Cheers to everyone who has supported our past residencies at Plush Cafe in Fullerton and Aurora in Newport Beach. My hope is that we can create an environment that rivals what we had developed at both of these locations in the past and that the future is wide open for constant improvement.
Now is the time for interested street team members to help spread the word. We realize that we are nothing without our fans and we plan on making every effort to reward word of mouth promotion for these nights and welcome any volunteers that would be interested in making this residency a great success!
